Fall in Utah 2010

One really great thing about living in Utah is the fall. We found pumpkins at Walmart for $2.00 a piece. I think it must have been a mistake. We put them on the front steps and the deer don't eat them. The big flowers are from Costco. The leaves are along the street coming up Sunset Hollow Drive.

July-September 2010

Carl really likes to explore old mines areas. This is the Leadville, Col. trip at Crystal.

This is the house where we lived in Paonia, Col. before L.A. It is the one stop light town.
We did a favorite hike in the S.L. area, Red Pine Lake.

Of course, the Sweden trip in Sept. These are some buildings in Stockholm.

The Glass CAstle

August was my turn to host the book club. My neighbor, Alicia, helped me. We had 5 tables on the patio. I found the cute tablecloths and centerpices. The funny thing was that when the ladies were leaving some of them asked me if I picked out the watermellon. I said, "No, Carl did." Somebody else asked me if I cut the fruit and I said, "No, Carl did." He was a great help and he did a great job. The next week our Relief Society was having a social with homemade ice cream. Boyd was making the ice cream and demonstrating some ideas. The Relief Society counselor called and asked Carl if he would give a demonstration on buying and cutting up friut. He said yes, but we thought it was really funny. He said he could have done better job with something chocolate.

Oceanside 2010

We were at the condos in Oceanside, Ca. from June 5th-12th, 2010. Some of our favorite times were at the beach. Amazing how everyone can be busy at the beach. We cooked hot dogs one night and the kids were always digging holes. Carl and I stopped at the Redlands the Newport temples on the drive to California. A favorite activity was taking the train into San Diego to the Mormon Battlion Museum which had been updated and opened in Jan.

Grand Gulch

The first picture is the hike along Kane Gulch Trail. We were able to set up camp and then just use day packs for hiking the 12 miles on Wed. to see Turkey Pen Ruin and Split Level Ruin. Mike gave Caiya a cup with a little bit of hot chocolate and a marshmellow at the bottom of the cup. Caiya's tongue was just not long enough to reach, but she gave it a good try.

Kennecott

On Fri., Apr. 16th I drove to Idaho and went with Mom to a memorial for her neighbor who passed away on that Mon. I was going to spend the night and come home Sat., but when we got back to her house she said she would like to get away and go to Utah. We drove to Utah that afternoon and Sat. morning we went to the Kennecott Mine and stopped by the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. She spent Sat. night with Nancy and they went to church and she was ready to go back Sun. afternoon. It was a bit of driving, but she really seemed to enjoy the time. We played dominoes on Fri. night.
